In order to be considered, candidates should have an architectural / interior design education from an accredited program, have Canadian work experience and be eligible to work in Canada (Architects and Intern Architects must be registered with the AIBC or be eligible for registration in the province of British Columbia), have good command of the English language, demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, organizational and leadership skills, and be available for an in person interview.

Candidates should be comfortable working in an open and collaborative work environment and have a flexible, collaborative approach to design.

Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience.

Intermediate Interior Designer

Level of Experience:  Intermediate (3+ Years)

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Experience with a range of commercial interior design projects with emphasis on corporate office, public spaces, and institutional facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of the design process and experience working on all phases of a project; pre-planning design analysis, concept development, programming, space planning, design development, furniture specifications (FF&E), finishes and materials selection, preparation of specification documents, construction documentation, contract administration.
  • Experience in creating complete and accurate working drawing packages including floor plans, furniture plans, custom millwork designs, technical drawings, elevations, RCPs, sections, interior details, etc.
  • Knowledge of BC building codes, permitting processes, and construction practices.
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite, Working knowledge of Revit, while not required, is an asset.
  • Skilled in the use of 3D modeling as a presentation tool
  • Familiarity with systems furniture and major suppliers
  • Ability to conduct site visits and report progress of construction
  • Experience working directly with principal designers and clients
  • Experience coordinating drawings with miscellaneous consultants; mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.
  • Experience with research, obtaining pricing, and specifying budget appropriate products and materials
  • Experience assembling presentation and material boards
  • Confidence in delivering a persuasive presentation, both visually & verbally
  • Capable of problem solving, multi-tasking, prioritizing workloads, and managing a variety of projects simultaneously
  • Registration with the IDI, while not required, is an asset

 

Intermediate Intern Architect

Level of Experience: Intermediate (3+ Years)

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Strong design, 3D modelling, rendering, and project presentation skills
  • Experience working with a range of project types
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp, and have working knowledge of Podium and/or 3D studio Max and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Competence in the preparation of Design Development documentation and Contract Documents will be necessary, and experience in coordinating building systems will be considered an asset
  • Effective problem solving and communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment to develop project documentation on complex projects

 

Senior Intern Architect / Intermediate Architect

Level of Experience: Senior Intern Architect (5+ Years) / Intermediate Architect (6+ Years)

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Local experience working with a wide range of project types
  • Strong design capability
  • Very strong experience in the preparation of Design Development documentation (including Development Permit submissions) and Contract Documents
  • Experience in coordinating building systems and technical issues in all phases of the design and construction documentation process
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D studio Max, and rendering plug ins such as Podium. Working knowledge of Revit in an office environment is an asset
  • Confident in their ability to develop, coordinate and issue well considered construction documents and be willing to see the job through the construction phase, occupancy and closeout
  • Effective problem solving and communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment to develop project documentation on complex projects

 

Senior Project Architect / Designer

Level of Experience:  Senior (10+ Years)

Candidates must be able to clearly demonstrate their design ability in addition to having sound working knowledge of the detailing and design of regional architectural building systems, life safety requirements and other BC Building code requirements, strong experience with the preparation of construction documents, in-house quality assurance, and construction administration on a variety of projects.  Experience should include design, detailing, specifications, shop drawing and mock-up review, coordination of Construction Documents (including drawings and specifications), and construction administration. Working knowledge of Revit, while not required is an asset.

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years local experience delivering complex projects for a wide range of building types
  • Registration in British Columbia (Architect AIBC).Very strong experience in the preparation of Design Development documentation (including Development Permit submissions) and Contract Documents
  • Have demonstrated design experience
  • Ability to manage a project team through all aspects of the design process
  • Ability to direct a team of junior architects and interns
  • Ability to coordinate consultants throughout the course of the project
  • Solid knowledge of BCBC, VBBL and building envelope detail experience specific to the BC climate
  • Working knowledge of coordinating Construction Documents using AutoCAD
  • Effective problem solving and communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment to develop project documentation on complex projects
